Middle School continues the Stratford tradition of excellence. Our goal is to prepare and mentor students for admission to private high schools, or advanced placement in public high schools. Building a strong academic curriculum is a major benefit of the Core Knowledge Sequence
. This curriculum provides a solid, sequenced, and specific outline for the middle school program by delivering a broad base of knowledge that's rich in vocabulary, analytical thinking, and consistent instruction. Our high standards for this core curriculum are well-balanced with instruction in art, music, science, physical education, and Spanish.
In addition, students are encouraged to actively participate in leadership and extracurricular activities, including student government, newspaper, yearbook, speech and debate clubs, and performing arts, among others. Sports include volleyball, soccer, flag football, and basketball. Our students take part in a variety of community service projects, including Second Harvest Food Drive and the annual Family Giving Tree.
Our small class size ensures a safe, disciplined, and respectful learning environment for students. All students are provided the necessary tools to excel, including access to a full science lab, study hall, and laptops for each student.
Classes are offered at our middle school campuses in San Jose, Santa Clara, and Fremont with weekday bus service available from select Stratford campuses. For information, please inquire at the campus.

Stratford Middle School - It's More Than Academics!
I recently went to Dallas with Harker's debate team for a tournament. I won the economic debate tournament there. I really feel that I got a solid foundation at Stratford for debating and wanted to thank my mentors at Stratford. My middle school experience continues to help me in high school.

Stratford Class of 2011
Do you remember the first day of middle school?
|"Do you remember the excitement you felt after making your first new friends? That day was the beginning of a journey on which we expanded our horizons, learned new concepts, built new friendships, and grew together...Now, we will embark on a new journey, one that Stratford School has prepared us for."|
Class of 2014
Stratford Middle School, San Jose
Our daughter started in the beginning of this school year as a 7th grader and this has been the greatest experience for her ...
|As a parent, we had so many concerns ... But she loves going to school and enjoys every subject, especially the specialty classes and clubs (Drama, Speech & Debate, Computer, Math Club, Spanish, etc.). The teachers here are top-notch and very caring. Due to the smaller class sizes, teachers have more one-on-one quality time with students. I always look forward to picking her up just to hear about all of the exciting news that went on during her day...She has never been happier and we feel so blessed. We wish we had known about this school earlier. We strongly suggest other parents check it out.|
