| | At Stratford School, we strive to build a strong sense of community at each campus. Throughout the year, we organize activities both on campus and within the community. Some examples of ways in which you and your family may get involved include:
|
Parent Committees & Campus Events Stratford Parent Committees at each campus actively plan and host events for families throughout the school year including: Stratford Movie Nights, Family Picnics, and Teacher Appreciation Banquets. In addition, during Career Days, parents visit classrooms and perform hands-on demonstrations of their professions. Through these visits, Stratford students have enjoyed opportunities to try on an astronaut's space suit, meet a firefighter, learn about good health from a nurse, and so much more.
|
Stratford School organizes events throughout the school year to which all Stratford staff, students, and families are invited. Families and friends enjoy special access and discounted admission to a variety of venues around the Bay Area. Visits to Disney On Ice, Children's Discovery Museum of San Jose, and Gilroy Gardens Family Theme Park are among the many special events organized by Stratford's Event Coordinator.

Good citizenship is supported both locally and globally through coordinated efforts at each of our campuses.
Locally, we organize an annual school wide collection of food for Second Harvest Food Bank. Other service initiatives have included a classical concert for kids and art show to benefit children with life-threatening illnesses at Stanford's Ronald McDonald House, and an outreach project to help families displaced by an apartment complex fire just a few blocks away from our San Jose campus. Each year, our elementary and middle school student governments coordinate new community service
projects that engage the entire student body.
Globally, our students have made donations to the Tsunami Disaster Relief funds through the Red Cross and other agencies; collected more than 12,000 lbs of needed goods including cribs, diapers, children's clothing, toiletries, toys, and books for families impacted by Hurricane Katrina; and made donations through the Hidaya Foundation to families in Pakistan, India, and Afghanistan affected by a devastating earthquake.
Through these efforts, we strive to teach students a valuable lesson
about helping others and how together, we can make a difference. |
