Reopening and Reuniting at Stratford in the Age of COVID-19

As California counties have begun to allow schools to reopen for in-person instruction, many of Stratford’s schools are in the process of welcoming K-8 students back to campus, with stringent health and safety protocols in place.  Prospective families are invited to schedule a tour and learn more.

Kindergarteners learn early on about the responsibilities of citizenship, the rewards of democracy, and about all of the elements of the election process in the U.S.

Through readings and discussion, students will come to know and understand terms such as “ballot” and “vote”. A run up to a mock election provides context around the idea of political parties and candidates. Finally, students have an opportunity to cast their own vote and to see an election in progress.
