A lost art gets new life for Stratford School second graders!

There is nothing more unique than one’s handwriting style and signature, but unfortunately, even the most personal messages are often delivered electronically, via text or email.

Stratford second graders gain top-notch keyboarding skills during computer science classes and typing practice, but they are also expected to master cursive handwriting, providing them with the ability to write clearly and legibly – in their science journals, while documenting their team’s progress throughout an engineering experiment, or when writing a thank you note to a teacher or classmate.

While the second grade curriculum at Stratford School is firmly focused on technology and tools, the essential social skill of handwriting is also an important part of each student’s education.
