Reopening and Reuniting at Stratford in the Age of COVID-19

As California counties have begun to allow schools to reopen for in-person instruction, many of Stratford’s schools are in the process of welcoming K-8 students back to campus, with stringent health and safety protocols in place.  Prospective families are invited to schedule a tour and learn more.

Ambur Alvarado

Preschool Teacher

Ambur Alvarado is a preschool teacher at Stratford's Sunnyvale De Anza Park campus.

Ambur believes that her main role as a teacher is to establish and develop meaningful and respectful relationships with each and every student. She knows that this affects how students behave in the classroom and their willingness and motivation to learn.

Ambur likes to provide her students with clear and comprehendible expectations in the classroom so that they are motivated to want to do better for themselves. She promotes social-emotional learning in her classroom and strives to provide children the confidence they need to show that their actions and decisions matter.

Ever since college, Ambur has always wanted to help people and be able to make a difference in someone else's life. After taking a course in Early Childhood Education, she knew she wanted to teach young children. Stratford was a natural choice for Ambur because of its reputation for excellence. She believes Stratford provides the optimal balance between academics and social-emotional development. Stratford also pushes Ambur to think outside the box and gives her the drive to succeed in her career.
