Mastering the Executive Functions Needed for Middle School with Dr. Damon Korb

Wednesday, May 15, 2024

Executive Functions are the set of higher learning skills that are needed to manage everyday life. They power our ability to simultaneously process more than one piece of information at a time, enable planning and organizing, and allow us to demonstrate insight, foresight, and hindsight - or a sense of the "big picture." In this presentation, Dr. Damon Korb, the director of the Center for Developing Minds and author of Raising an Organized Child: 5 Steps to Boost Independence, Ease Frustration and Promote Confidence, describes the Executive Functioning perils of being a middle school aged student and what parents can do to build those mental skills in the developing brains of their emerging adolescent children.
