Our Response to the COVID-19 Pandemic

Stratford School is currently planning for the 2020/21 school year. We are confident that we are well-prepared to open school with agile plans carefully designed to address almost every conceivable scenario. For prospective families, we continue to offer personalized virtual tours and virtual open house events. We have made adjustments to accommodate all of the necessary COVID-19 precautions and continue to monitor local health and safety guidelines.

Eighth Grade

Stratford students excel at outstanding high schools.

Our eighth graders exhibit remarkable depth of character; respect for their classmates, teachers, and families; and the “sparkling intelligence” that characterizes all Stratford students.

Stratford’s intentional approach to educating the whole child results in young adults who are gifted communicators, skilled and generous collaborators, and creative problem solvers.

The integration of science, technology, engineering, art, and math (STEAM) into all aspects of our curriculum allows students to explore and excel in areas requiring core knowledge, as well as their individual passions such as musical theater, foreign language, and creative writing.

A Day in the Life: Stratford Middle School

Stratford School’s Middle School program continues to build a strong academic curriculum in core subjects to prepare and mentor students for high school. Middle school students also can choose electives in engineering, orchestra, French, computer science, and other specialty classes. Students are encouraged to participate in the extracurricular activities included in our Leadership Program. The schedule below offers a detailed look at what your middle school student will be learning and doing every day.
High School Preparation
Middle schoolers leave Stratford confident and ready for the challenges of high school. 95% of Stratford students were accepted to their preferred public or private high school in 2015. Our innovative approach – with less focus on testing and homework, and more time spent on developing communication and critical thinking skills - helps students eclipse their peers academically, and truly enjoy their time at school. The warm, supportive, encouraging atmosphere at Stratford School gives students the curiosity to reach, and the courage to grasp whatever they need to succeed after middle school.
