Reopening and Reuniting at Stratford in the Age of COVID-19

As California counties have begun to allow schools to reopen for in-person instruction, many of Stratford’s schools are in the process of welcoming K-8 students back to campus, with stringent health and safety protocols in place.  Prospective families are invited to schedule a tour and learn more.

George McAusland

Curricular Lead

"I try to engage my students through insightful, Socratic questions."

George McAusland has been in elementary education since 2011, and currently teaches at Stratford School's San Jose Middle School campus.

George believes that his most important job is to make his students care about learning, because to be excited about learning, for its own sake, is a self-perpetuating reward. He loves posing insightful, thought-provoking questions to his students to help them to become more inquisitive learners.

Stratford has given George the opportunity to develop as a teacher, with the support of campus leadership, a great team to collaborate with, and curious students to teach.
