Choosing Stratford School Los Gatos Kensington Way

We recognize that parents have numerous options for their child’s education. Why do families choose Stratford School and stay with us until their child graduates? It’s because so many wonderful things happen at our private preschool and elementary school. Let us tell you more!

Our Special Projects

Spacious Campus with Large Outdoor Field

Our campus is located at the base of the Santa Cruz mountains, in a quiet neighborhood. We have a large field and playground with multiple structures. This provides us with plenty of space for P.E. classes, outdoor learning, and large-scale school events that bring everyone together.

Longstanding Educators

Many of our teachers have worked at our school for over 10 years. They offer stability, expertise, and a thorough understanding of our balanced STEAM curriculum. Some serve as mentor teachers, supporting colleagues across multiple Stratford schools to elevate teaching practices.

Community Service

Our Student Council helps bring our school and community together in two big ways. First, they built a Little Free Library so our students, along with people in our neighborhood can take a book or leave a book to share. Second, our student council helps to lead our Stratford Cares community giving efforts with annual fundraisers for charities. This allows students to practice kindness, give back to their community, and support groups such as The Giving Tree, Kids Heart Challenge, Xerces Society, Santa Clara Bee Guild, Santa Clara Animal Shelter, and more.

Community Events

We partner with families through open communication, planning school events, and working together to help our students thrive and grow. Families can join our Parent Committee and take part in community events. Everyone in our community gets excited about our Book Fair, Trunk or Treat, Glow Light Party, and diverse cultural celebrations. Some families also join in the Cat Hill Bike Race and Los Gatos City Council meetings.

Student Leadership Opportunities

Students in grades 3 and 4 have the opportunity to take on leadership roles to help make our school an even better place. The Student Council enables students to share ideas, plan community activities, and build school spirit. We also have an Environment Committee and a Kindness Committee. These groups plan fun ways to help others and make our school a happy place. They even act out skits to teach their peers about what it means to have good character. The Environment Committee also helps keep our school clean by creating a schedule that allows each class to contribute to regular clean-up.
