Choosing Stratford School Laguna Niguel

We know that parents have many choices for their child’s education. So, why do families choose Stratford School and stay with us until their child graduates? It’s because so many wonderful things happen at our private preschool and elementary school. Let us tell you more!

Our Special Projects

Flag Ceremonies

Each month, our school comes together for a special event called the Flag Ceremony. It’s a time to celebrate students who show great character. We start by raising the American flag and listening to a class talk about the character trait of the month. Then, teachers give out Character Awards and Super Socrates awards to students who have been kind and made good choices. We also cheer for birthdays, big milestones, and special achievements. At the end, we do a fun activity called Backpack Buddies, where older and younger students spend time together and build friendships.

Small Class Sizes, Big Impact

At our Laguna Niguel campus, we believe every student deserves to be seen, heard, and supported. Our small class sizes make that possible. With a 12:1 student-to-teacher ratio in TK and grades 1–5, and a 15:1 ratio in kindergarten, our classrooms foster personalized learning and meaningful connections. This allows teachers to tailor instruction, provide targeted support, and create a nurturing environment where every child can thrive. Beyond academics, small class sizes build a strong sense of community, helping students feel valued, confident, and ready to reach their full potential.

Diverse Community

By encouraging students to think globally and appreciate both differences and shared experiences, we foster an inclusive and vibrant school community. One of our most cherished traditions, Multicultural Week, celebrates the many cultures within our Stratford family through engaging activities and global learning experiences. The week culminates in International Night, where families share food, stories, and performances from around the world—a joyful reflection of the global values we strive to instill in every student.

Engaged Parent Community

Parents play an active and valued role through our dedicated Parent Support Group, which partners with teachers and staff to enhance the school experience through events, fundraising, and volunteer efforts. Their student-centered approach helps fund field trips and enrichment activities while fostering strong family connections.
