Choosing Stratford School San Francisco De Montfort
We recognize that parents have numerous options for their child’s education. Why do families choose Stratford School and stay with us until their child graduates? It’s because so many wonderful things happen at our private preschool and elementary school. Let us tell you more!
Our Special Projects
The Golden Paw Initiative
Our school’s Golden Paw program helps our students grow in both heart and mind. Each month, we focus on a new character trait, such as kindness or respect. These traits help guide our social-emotional learning. Our counselors visit classrooms to lead lessons and provide students with practical ways to develop empathy, resilience, and a strong sense of community. Throughout the month, classes work to earn Golden Paw Points by showing these traits in action. At the end of the month, the class with the most points is honored with the Golden Paw Award.
Multicultural Emphasis
Our students don’t just learn about the world—they live it and celebrate it. Each year, we host events like the Cultural Caravan, where families share foods, traditions, and stories from their heritage. Our Multicultural Fashion Show showcases dazzling clothing and cultural pride on stage. We also observe heritage months and cultural celebrations throughout the year, providing our students with the opportunity to explore the richness of our global community.
The Weekly Lion Pride
Each week, families receive the “Stratford San Francisco Lion Pride Smore,” a digest of schoolwide updates, reminders, and snapshots from the week. It is organized into clear sections that include Snaps from the Week, Upcoming Events, and Counselor’s Corner, so families stay informed and engaged. We also boast a student-edited and published newsletter, “The Stratford Gazette.” Students write articles about recent school events, publish comics, and include highlights from our sports teams.
Winter & Spring Performance Programs
Our seasonal programs are true showstoppers! Our students take the stage with live music, original dance choreography, and vibrant costumes that light up the room. These performances are more than just shows. They are opportunities for students to gain confidence, express creativity, and work toward a shared goal. Each performance is a joyful celebration of the talent and dedication our students bring to the arts.
Community Events
Our school calendar is filled with traditions that bring families together year after year. We start with our Fall Festival and Halloween Parade, where our students showcase their costumes and enjoy festive activities. Multicultural Week and Lunar New Year celebrations invite everyone to explore new traditions and share their own. Friendly competitions arise in events like our Spelling Bee and the 5th Grade vs. Teachers Volleyball Game. As spring arrives, the Block Party fills our campus with laughter, music, and games.
