Teachers provide a warm, caring, joyful environment that encourages preschoolers’ natural curiosity, and instills confidence in their innate abilities.

By balancing traditional instruction in reading, writing, and math with art and music, the Stratford preschool curriculum teaches 21st century skills of communication, collaboration, problem solving, and analysis.

The open, caring, family-oriented atmosphere at Stratford School helps preschoolers feel safe – physically and emotionally – and nurtures the whole child, both mind and heart.

A Day in the Life: Stratford Preschool

Schedule
Stratford School offers half-day and full-day preschool programs with extended care options before and after the school day. The schedules below offer a detailed look at what your child will be learning and doing every minute they are in our care, and reflect the Stratford School commitment to providing an uplifting education to every child.
STEAM in Preschool
At Stratford, STEAM instruction begins in preschool. Students learn the foundations of coding through robotics, by learning to create patterns and directions. There is a piano in every classroom, and each day, specialty music instructors visit the classroom to play, sing, and dance – developing motor skills, encouraging movement, and instilling an appreciation of the arts. Preschool students share with classmates once a week, setting the stage for confidence in public speaking. During imaginative play, students participate in problem solving exercises with classmates, without a specified outcome or direction from the teacher, where they learn to build, test, fail, and try again – gaining the fundamental skills of engineering design.
