Only At Palo Alto

Choosing Stratford School Palo Alto

We know that parents have many choices for their child’s education. So, why do families choose Stratford School and stay with us until their child graduates? It’s because so many wonderful things happen at our private preschool, elementary, and middle school. Let us tell you more!

Our Special Projects

Building Good Character

Every month, we have school-wide assemblies where students from all grades come together. At these meetings, we talk about being kind, helpful, and respectful. Students who show our H.E.A.R.T. values (our core learner outcomes) are praised and celebrated by the school. Elementary and middle school students also team up for activities that foster mentorship, leadership, and community. These include buddy reading, service projects, STEM challenges and cultural celebrations. These projects help our students learn how to be leaders, make new friends, and feel part of our strong school community.

Inspiring a Love of Science

We want students to be curious, ask questions, and explore the world around them. That’s why we make science fun and exciting! Students in kindergarten through 5th grade take part in hands-on science lessons where they get to touch, build, test, and discover. These lessons are taught by educators from the Palo Alto Junior Museum & Zoo. The lessons are aligned with the Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS). They help students understand science concepts and spark their curiosity to learn more.

Connecting With Our Community

Our commitment to connection extends beyond the classroom walls. Stratford is a proud member of the Palo Alto Chamber of Commerce. We love joining in events like the annual May Fete Parade and Fair, where our students and families march together. We also give back through local fundraisers including Pets In Need.

Outdoor Learning

Learning happens everywhere on our campus. We have multiple outdoor learning areas, including a garden where children plant and grow vegetables and a butterfly garden with pollinator-friendly plants. Our campus also has multiple play areas, including a playground dome where students can climb, hang, and engage in active, imaginative play.
