We recognize that parents have numerous options for their child’s education. Why do families choose Stratford School and stay with us until their child graduates? It’s because so many wonderful things happen at our private preschool, elementary, and middle school. Let us tell you more!
Our Special Projects
Community Events
Our school calendar is full of fun events for students and families. In the fall, we host a Fall Festival and at the end of the year, we gather for an all-family picnic with games and music. We also host a Recitation Festival to showcase our students’ creativity, and a Spaghetti Dinner to share a warm meal together. We enjoy gathering together for events like Bingo Night, Trivia Night, and our annual Spelling Bee. In the winter and spring, our holiday shows allow students to share their talents and bring joy to the whole community.
STEAM
Our students shine in STEAM (science, technology, engineering, arts, music). They excel in the classroom as well as on competitive stages. In 2024, our students took home 1st place and an honorable mention at the Los Angeles Science Fair and Engineering Science Expo. This remarkable win underscores our strong focus on innovation and academic excellence.
Field Trips
At our school, learning goes far beyond the classroom. It leaps into the real world through our extracurricular activities and field trips. Each grade takes a special trip to reinforce what they are studying in the classroom. In elementary grades, that can be a trip to the California Science Center or to a farm to explore plant and animal science. In Grade 6, students visit Catalina Island, where they explore marine ecosystems. In Grade 7, the journey continues to Yosemite National Park, where students engage in outdoor education and learn about geology and conservation. By Grade 8, they embark on an exciting trip to Washington, D.C., immersing themselves in the history, culture, and civic life of our nation’s capital.
Cheer Team
We’re proud to be the only Stratford campus with a professional cheer team. Our talented cheerleaders perform at home games for our elementary and middle school sports teams. They bring dynamic energy, dazzling routines, and an infectious enthusiasm that ignites the crowd. They create a vibrant atmosphere where students, families, and staff come together to celebrate teamwork, perseverance, and school pride.
Building Character
Character development is at the heart of our school culture. We believe that education is about more than academics. It’s about shaping the whole child. Each month, we recognize students who show one of the Character Counts pillars: Trustworthiness, Respect, Responsibility, Fairness, Caring, and Citizenship. Through this, we inspire our students to live out these values every day, whether in the classroom, on the playground, or in the broader community. We help our students grow into compassionate and responsible leaders who will make a positive impact on the world.
