Stratford School congratulates all of our talented middle and high school students who participated in this year’s science fair season. We are beyond proud of the initiative, ingenuity, and scientific acumen that our students have shown. The recognition and awards only solidify what we already knew. Our future is in good hands with these young minds, who are already working through their science fair projects to create life-changing solutions and lead us into a more thoughtful, creative, and innovative world.

With 120 awards across 9 of our middle and high schools, Stratford School students showed the world that they understood the assignment and were ready to tackle real-world issues such as workplace safety monitoring using A.I., recycling plastics to create eco-friendly building materials, remediating micro-pollutants in soil, a real-time disaster search & rescue system, and biodegradable menstrual pads.

    • Stratford Altadena Middle School students participated in the LA County Science and Engineering Fair. They took home 3 Awards, including the James E. Robert Award for Excellence in Engineering, which went to Jaydan Robledo and Narinder Badhan II.
    • Stratford Fremont Osgood Middle School, our largest middle school, brought back an impressive 38 recognitions from the Hitachi Science & Engineering Fair in Alameda County. Fremont Osgood’s first-place award winners include Kavin Anand & Liam Chwang, Neysa Soni, and Tannishq Kakar.
    • Stratford Mission Viejo Middle School’s Rainn Yeo was awarded the prestigious Naval Science Award for Outstanding STEM project.
    • Stratford Palo Alto Middle School was recognized with 13 awards at the Synopsys Science & Technology Championship, including Alexis Sheng’s 1st-place award and a nomination to compete in the Thermo Fisher Junior Innovators Challenge and Rayansh  Sekhri’s 1st-place award in the Physical Science and Engineering Category, 1st place in the Richardson Environmental Awards, and a nomination to compete in Thermo Fisher JIC.
    • Stratford Pleasanton Middle School students also competed in the Hitachi Science & Engineering Fair in Alameda County, where they received 17 recognitions in total, including two 1st-place awards: one to Rohan Kommana and another to the team of Aadhya Rao, Anushka Pati, and Aashna Doshi.
    • Stratford Preparatory Milpitas, our newest middle school in the group, earned 23 project awards and was recognized as the Outstanding Middle School. 1st-place winner, Vivann Partani, also received the Isabelle Stone Award for Best Biological Science Projects, was nominated to compete in the Thermo Fisher Junior Innovators Challenge, and qualified to participate in the California State Science & Engineering Fair. Additionally, the 1st-place team of Anaka Ganesh and Praneetha Santhana Krishnan was nominated to compete in the Thermo Fisher Junior Innovators Challenge and qualified for the California State Science & Engineering Fair.
    • Stratford Preparatory Blackford students participated in the Synopsys Science & Technology Championship, receiving 12 awards in total, including two 1st-place awards to students Rufan Yin and Everett Song. Everett was also nominated for the Thermo Fisher Junior Innovators Challenge and qualified for the California State Science & Engineering Fair.
    • Stratford San Francisco Middle School competed in the Golden State STEM Fair, bringing back 11 awards, including two 1st-place awards for students Angelina Lam and Jacob Yen.
    • Stratford San Jose Middle School students showcased their projects at the Synopsys Science & Technology Championship and returned with 3 awards.

Stratford students begin learning the early learning principles of STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math) in preschool and then build on that foundation throughout elementary and middle school.
