Stratford Students Consistently Score Above the National Average on CTP Assessments
Stratford School’s Comprehensive Testing Program (CTP) results have continued to show consistent, measurable year-over-year growth. During the 2025/26 school year, our students performed at or above the national average across every subject area assessed: 93.6% in Mathematics, 84.3% in Reading Comprehension, 93.1% in Quantitative Reasoning, and 87.2% in Verbal Reasoning. These CTP test scores give us reason to celebrate the quality of our curriculum and instruction, along with the motivation and hard work that our students and teachers bring to the classroom every day.
Why Stratford School Uses CTP Testing
At Stratford, we continually look for meaningful ways to refine our curriculum and teaching methods so that students stay engaged and achieve the strongest possible learning outcomes. One of the most reliable tools we use to evaluate our progress—across campuses, within individual classrooms, and for each student’s personalized learning plan—is the CTP assessment.
Stratford School administers the Comprehensive Testing Program, developed and overseen by the Educational Records Bureau, to track student progress from kindergarten through eighth grade. Students take the assessment annually each spring, and it measures both academic achievement and critical thinking across four core areas: Quantitative Reasoning, Mathematics, Reading Comprehension, and Verbal Reasoning.
How CTP Results Shape Instruction at Stratford
CTP results give our educators and families a clear, data-informed picture of where students excel and where they may need additional support. This analysis also helps our teachers strategize more effectively, tailoring lessons to the classroom as a whole while also addressing each student’s individual needs. One student may benefit from additional reinforcement in a particular subject, while another may be ready for more advanced coursework in that same area. This knowledge allows our teachers to remain flexible and responsive, giving every student an individualized learning plan built around their specific strengths and growth areas.
CTP testing also gives our campuses a consistent benchmark for measuring our performance year over year. Each testing cycle, we ask ourselves how effectively we are meeting our students’ needs and where we can further strengthen their educational experience. Using these results as a guidepost, Stratford continually adapts its approach, equipping students with the critical thinking skills, depth of knowledge, and confidence they need to succeed both in school and throughout their lives. Building that strong foundation for the future remains central to our mission.
A Commitment to Continuous Improvement
As educators, we continue to learn a great deal from our students and from the evolving world around them. We strive to model continuous improvement and lifelong learning, knowing these habits will carry through our students’ lives and give them confidence and fulfillment. These outstanding CTP results reflect the strength of our curriculum, our hands-on teaching methods, joyful classroom environments, and philosophy of lifelong learning.
